Granthagalu – “Bhashya Deepika” and “Soothra Deepika”
One of the very pontiffs in Sri Vyasaraja Mutt, who entered sanyasa directly from Brahmacharyashrama after Sri Vyasarajaru
Place where he wrote his books – Bhavan Kalmanmandapam, where his image is carved on a pillar.
Bhashyadeepikacharya – His name is actually Sri Jagannatha Tirtharu. But he is always referred as Bhashyadeepikacharyaru as he has composed the great book titled Bhashya Deepika. He studied under Sri Sheshachandrikacharyaru for nearly 30 years
Swimming with the devara pettige – Once some Turushka Sainikaas attacked him. In order to prevent them from touching the devara pettige (God’s box), he swam in Kaveri River for nearly 20 kilometres and saved himself and the Devara pettige.
Saved by Narasimha – In another occasion, some sainiks attacked, he prayed Narasimha Devaru, who in turn appeared in a Mango Tree and saved him. This he has mentioned in his Bhashyadeepika Grantha.
