This place is famous for Shri. Mahipati Rayara Vrundaavana and the Aaradhane festival happens on Chchatti Amavasya of every year.
Upanyaasa in Urdu – Once Sri Mahipathi Dasaru was rendering upanyasa in a Nrusimha Temple in Vijapur. Hundreds of people were listening to his pravachana. At that time a minister of Adilshaha by name Khavaas Khan heard about the pravachana of Dasaru and requested him to come to his house and render the upanyasa, which the Dasaru readily agreed and did the pravachana in his house also in Urdu and Parsi language. It delighted all the Muslims as well.

I understand that my ancestors came from Pachchapur in Belgaum district of Karnataka. We now live in Bangalore. My grandfather’s ( Died sometime around 1915 ) grandfather name is Krishnaraya and his father’s name is Devaraya. Could it likely that we hail from the family of Mahipatidasaru? Our Gotra is Atreyasa. Please throw some light on this.
