Period – 1434-1448
Aradhana – Vaishaka Shudda Triteeya
He has written Commentary on Srimadbhagavatha with the title “Bhakti-ratnavali”. This commentary is popularly called as “Vijayadhwajeeya vyaakyaana”. Sri Vijayadhvaja Tirtha was the sixth in the lineage of the Pejwara Mutt, and he passed away on the Aksaya Tritya day, which falls on the third day in the month of Vaishaka Madhusudana (Vaisakha – April/May).
He is the only one who has written the commentary on entire Bhagavatha.
His Granthas –
1. Bhakthi Ratnavali or Pada Ratnavali
2. Dashavatara Harigatha – Stotra
3. Krishnastaka (not available)
At the end of this commentary Vijayadhvaja Tirtha prayed earnestly to Sri Krishna:
vyakhya bhagavatasya krishna rachitatvaat priti kamatmana pretascet pradadasi tat pratinidhim tat trin varisye varan|
prana nishkinchanatam tava pratibhavam padaravindatmana samsaktim sukhatirtha sastra vijarajarasya param taya |
Meaning – He prayes to Sri Krishna Paramathma that he has written the commentary on Bhagavata just for pleasing him. If he is pleased, he requests him to grant him three boons – that I should always remain a poor man in this and any future lives, that I may always have the opportunity to study Acharya Madhva’s works on Krishna tatva, and lastly by doing so, and to rest in Srihari as his foot servant.”
