Sri Ramachandra Tirtharu initially gave ashrama to Sri Vibudendra Tirtharu and appointed him as Uttaradhikari. But he went on Tirthayatre and as he could not return during the last stage of Sri Ramachandra Tirtharu, he decided to give ashrama to another and renamed him as “Sri Vidyanidhi Tirtharu”. And the Mutt was divided into two for the GOOD of the Madhwa philosophy. There emerged two mutts, one with Vibudendra Tirtha parampare – now Rayara Mutt; and the other one with Vidyanidhi Tirtha parampare – Uttaradimutt. This enabled spread of Tatva amongst larger section of the world – with different mutts.
Sri Ramachandra Thirthara Vrundavana is situated near the cave where Teekaraayaru wrote most of his teekas and Srimanyaayasudha Granthaas. Yergola Cave is about 17 Kilometers from Yadgir, Sedam Taluk in Gulbarga District
